Well, here we go with a new thread for 2010. Happy New Year to everyone. Wish I had something significant to report. My last aircraft for 2009 (local time at least) was REACH 525 (C-17A, 08-8192, 62nd AW McChord) coming through the area beginning at 2351.

Just logged my first hit for the new year - and it's a good one:

1620Z DEATH 12 (B-2A, unid) calling Patterson Metro for weather at Fenway Park....

"DEATH 12 copies all, thanks for all your help - and you might want to watch NBC for the NHL Winter Classic."

Reply to a post I made in the MA forum:

Happy New Year to everyone!

Jared, You should be hearing DEATH 12 very soon as he was working Boston Center
on 273.55 (Utica, NY) reported by Don Edwards at 1853z.

Alan, glad to see you are felling better and up to posting again.

A toast to everyone for good health in the new year!!

That one was leaving Andrews as REACH 127 (logged here at 1318) and headed northwest - later logged in Michigan. It arrived as EVAC 01276 around 2100 last evening. That one and REACH 3120 (C-17A, 03-3120, 62nd AW McChord) are the only two I've managed to round up today.

And a few more a bit later...
1554: REACH 101 (C-5A, 70-0461, 89th AS Wright-Patterson)
1559: REACH 613 (C-17A, 01-0196, 437th AW Charleston)
1603: ................. (KC-135R, 63-7993, 121st ARW OH-ANG)
1605: REACH 106 (C-17A, 03-3118, 183rd AW MS-ANG) [In from the UK]
1609: WOA8015 (DC-10, N138WA, World Airways - mil charter arriving from Europe)

Yeah a slow day.Logged the above showing as
BLUE64 63-7993 K35R 121 ARW Oh ANG 2010/01/01 21:01z
level 37k. Prob zipping across Pa.

Mark

Finally got the callsign for him here Mark about 15 minutes after first picking him up but waited too long to add it and the edit time expired. Glad you posted it.

Also...
1627: REACH 3114 (C-17A, 03-3114, 183rd AS MS-ANG Jackson)
1644: **BOOHOO call (C-17A, 90-0535, 62nd AW McChord) (Probably REACH 430 which it displayed while over Ireland earlier today)
1655: REACH 314 (C-17A, 99-0061, 62nd AW McChord)
1707: SPAR 12 (C-9C, 73-1683, 73rd AS AFRC)
1721: REACH 881 (C-17A, 08-8193, 62nd AW McChord??) (Newest C-17A - appears it was delivered 22 Dec)
1814: REACH 496 (DC-10, N612AX, OmniInternational)
1847: REACH 3118 (C-17A, 03-3118, 183rd AS MS-ANG Jackson)
2017: BLUE 63 (KC-135T, 58-0071, 91st ARS MacDill)

** The BOOHOO call is really displayed as @B@@H@@...it's probably a factory setting since many aircraft show that in the callsign block.

Ref Below: Yeah...wonder if they'll stage at Pease or Bangor for an incoming flight or if they're heading across the pond? Guess we'll find out in a few hours.
Also you're correct on the 08-8193 C-17. It was on the west coast yesterday and was noted in Kentucky shortly before I grabbed it. It kept going through the area though to the northeast and didn't stop in this area.
Yes, the hex for it is AE2FA5.

Coincidentally Alan BLUE63 58-0071 K35R 6 AMW MacDill AFB now showing
at 2021 local level 35k.
Since you logged him a few minutes before me Alan guess they were
Eastbound...excellent!

Tin posted:1721: REACH 881 (C-17A, 08-8193, 62nd AW McChord??) (Newest C-17A)
Didn't show here so prob went into Andrews from West?
Is it AE2FA5? since 08-8192 is AE2FA4.

Funny on that BOO HOO C-17 as I logged 3 times in that same time frame
as BH then RCH 430 then BH again..toggling between the 2 mode boxes on aircraft?

I logged it but it was at FL270 during the short 5 minutes I logged it. Must've been at the fringe of my reception area in WV or PA.

I bet it was zipping on down to KCHS.I think the last couple 62 AW C-17's
went down there first as well.Would explain a lot.

Nope...see my note above. It went to the northeast and was logged over Cape Cod after passing through here. Guess we'll see it in Europe tomorrow morning.

0700 local This morning RCH 471 off Martin State C-130J #01-1461
climbing up eastbound.
This is that 146thAW CA-ANG tail aka CRAB 61 that has been around lately.
Another possible theory on this is that Maryland 175th Wing borrowed this
tail cause they lost a C-130J 97-1352 for a while?

Nothing on the RB yet.
1856- It's 410. Still not on the box. They advised maint to expect another plane tonight.
1929- Says they're 5 minutes out and I was never able to pick them up on the RB.
