The PAT callsign does stand for Priority Air Transport, but it is used by any Army, Army Reserve or ARNG fixed-wing aircraft on a PAT mission. They are mostly UC-35, C-12 and C-26 aircraft based all over the US, but the the high-end C-20's and C-37's at Andrews use the PAT callsign too.

Both would work! One to search, and another to Monitor your know freqs. The 996 has a plus for adding another 500Ch's. But Thats an expensive radio for just mil air.
