Just checking to see when the SPD feed will be operational. Missing my baby!

Also, there is a meeting scheduled for the Ambulance Trust (you know the one that is to replace Stillwater Fire Department response). It is set for Jan. 26th. As soon as I have location and time, I will post it. The new ambulance trust is probably just fine, but does it worry anyone else that 1) We now have to pay an 5 dollar fee on the water bill for it? and 2) The new company doesn't have buildings in place to house their ambulances?

The good thing that will come out of this whole deal is that the SFD Fire Apparatus will finally be staffed like it should've been all along. Cross-manning in a town the size of Stillwater doesn't work like they have used it. The ambulance is way too busy to have a cross-manned staff on it.

They'll find somewhere to run the units out of before long I'm sure. They'll probably post them around town anyway I would assume for optimum coverage.

I agree wholeheartedly there have been staffing issues at both the SPD and SFD. I hope this does help - I have been concerned about what might happen if we did have a catastrophe (tornado for example). Just keeping up on game days can be taxing enough!

From what I can gather from talking to personnel and other Stillwaterians (Stillwaterites?) ... let me just say townies ... can be summed in two words: City Manager.

Mr. Galloway has ruffled way too many feathers over the years. At this point, even good ideas are lost in all the flying debris. Politics! City Council!! Argh!!! Let me say this, they just need to pull over and let you guys do your job.

*Thanks STW feed for bringing my baby back!*

Norman seems to be going down the same path. City Manager has all the power but is not directly accountable to the taxpayer while the mayor does stand for re-election but seems to have little power.

Not good, Maverick, not good.

Is the STW feed really back? If so, how can I find it?

Sigh, No

Sorry about the mix-up officer_josh - this post thread was started back in January and before the feed was apparently and unequivocably taken down by the then current provider to run a business.

I am missing it greatly, myself. There was a manhunt today north of town beginning at approximately 1600 or so at Richmond and Washington. Suspect bought something to huff at the convenience store and managed to drive off, hitting one of the power poles up the street. He then bailed out of the car and was on foot for awhile toward the water plant (sewer??) further north.

In any case, you might have seen the response. They even had an officer in the air for the search. Long story short, the suspect's mother was able to convince him via cell to surrender. Not sure how badly injured he was or if he was taking to SMC.

I think what I miss most is the archives and the ability to replay audio. As much as I listen, I can't always hear the beginning or end of calls. Sigh.
