The City of Stockton was granted a 10-channel, trunked radio system license this month. The callsign is WRMI929. The frequencies listed on the license are the same as their current PD/FD/PW conventional P25 channels. The license shows P25, and has five sites with the same frequencies at each site, so it's likely going to be a simulcast system, if they're actually planning on going trunked.

FCC Callsign WRMI929 (STOCKTON, CITY OF)

Frequencies listed on the trunked radio system license:
453.27500 - (Current Stockton FD1)
453.70000 - (Current Stockton PW)
460.07500 - (Current Stockton PD4)
460.20000 - (Current Stockton PD2)
460.25000 - (Current Stockton PD3)
460.32500 - (Current Stockton PD5)
460.40000 - (Current Stockton PD1)
460.42500 - (Current Stockton PD6)
460.57500 - (Current Stockton FD2)
460.62500 - (Current Stockton FD3)

Since everything in Stockton is already P25, this seems like a logical move to get more channels out of the same number of frequencies and perhaps enable other capabilities (such as links with nearby systems).

Wow, I hadn't noticed that the TRS frequencies are already in use, that should make testing and cutover interesting.

If this actually comes through, and users start switching over to a new system, all you *should* have to do is program in a P25 trunked radio system into your scanner.
