What is it, and should I program it?

Thanks.

I see the majority of the communities are still awaiting their STOCS box, which will make the use increase. According to DEMHS they have over 100 to be distributed to various agencies. I added it to all my radios and will see how it works out.

put it in, it is usable to some extent now.
I have used it going to New Britain mutual aid for FD. As long as the different agencies share a common band, the STOCS channels are usable now. When the boxes go in service, you should get the interoperability between bands.

One of the documents I read on the DEMHS website encouraged agencies to program the channels and use them as tac and fireground channels on a regular basis just so the end users know they are there and what they are for.
