From a friend on another forum: ETO ALPHA 78 AMPLIFIER STOLEN

Serial # 8474 stolen from residence in Town of McCandless,
Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 in early morning
hours of August 29, 2014, and reported to Town of McCandless
Police Department. Police department has description of suspects,
vehicle description, and fingerprints, along with discreet identifiable
modifications done by owner. Reward of $100 is offered for arrest
and conviction of actor. Theft has been reported to manufacturer,
all major ham vendors and equipment service shops. Item should be
returned to Town of McCandless Police Department, 9955 Grubbs
Road, Wexford, PA 15090

If you come across someone with a new Alpha amp, please let the McCandless Police Department know about your findings. As I understand what happened, only the amp was stolen from the residence of a fellow NHARC member which makes me believe the thief was a ham.

I hope the property is returned to the operator. That being said, it is interesting that only the amplifier was stolen. Presuming the main radio was there and not touched, nor anything else, I'm wondering if the amplifier was taken because it was causing the perpetrator grief of some kind. Nothing of course would condone theft, but sometimes people get upset when those watts are pushed out.

$100.00 dollar reward?????!!!!! Typical cheapass ham. If he can afford a Alpha, then he can come with a larger reward. FIle with his homeowners and be done with it.

Yes, I am calloused and tough s***t. Bad things happen in life, get over it and move on.
