Anyone else want to know why in this post 9/11 world as soon as the plane was reported stolen and in the air why it was not intercepted? Just let it finish the fight?

According to the "news" report you posted, it was not definitely a stolen aircraft, and they are not sure if it was involved in the "medical emergency".

So why do you think it should be intercepted? Are we all now guilty until proven innocent?

Maybe in YOUR "post 9-11" world some flurry of activity to intercept (and maybe shoot down?) this aircraft would be the way to go - but not in mine.

What world-class catastrophe would this have prevented?

I would say it ended up pretty much being a non-event except on twitter.

Colorado Springs Gazette, Denver media and Colorado Springs TV stations have no coverage this morning.

Aaahhhh! I *despise* this term. Anyone who thinks that we need to drastically alter our lives because of an event (Columbine, OK bombing, WTC) has just proven that the terrorists have done their job. I never heard people say "in this post-Columbine world" or "in this post-Vietnam War world". Please give it a break and live your life with a modicum of safety and sensibility.
