• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Can MOT/FM frequencies be stored on the same bank? I have seperate banks for different Counties etc., (MOT?FM) and would like them to be in the same bank; is this possible?

I understand EDACS LCN entries but can different systems/locations of EDACS be stored in the same bank? Thanks

You can mix trunking and conventional on the Pro-95. You can not mix Motorola AND EDACS as the bank is designated one or the other.

For Motorola you can store the control channel pretty much anywhere in the *MOTOROLA* trunked bank. You can even store multiple control channels for Motorola in the same bank providing there is little chance of receiveing both control channels at the same time. The only problem you may encounter is that of talk groups.

You can only store EDACS LCN's in the LCN cooresponding to location in your scanner. So no you can't store multiple sites of EDACS in one bank and also why you *must* start on channel 1 not channel 0.

How is the control channel determined? RE: EDACS, the ID# is a 4 digit code but I am unable to associate it to any specific group in help files/books etc.; any leads? Thanks

The control channel is set by the whim of the system administrator and can be changed by the flick of a switch. Which is why on Moto-II systems your program all the associated frequencies just in case even though you only need the active control channel programmed.

The ID# for EDACS is the talkgroup ID and has nothing to do with the control channel per se. By seeing the TG ID really gives you no clue regarding the control channel. ;)

In the RRDB typically you will see the control channel listed in the frequency list as either red or blue. However, it can change whenever. ;)
