I hit the Tone button and the T comes up on the screen. I then hit F, Tone and select the tone I want for the repeater I'm entering. I then hit Enter, then F, M-In to save the repeater info update in memory. And I check my work by hitting F Tone and the tone I entered is not there, goes back to lowest freq default.

In order to select the tone frequency you must push the joystick to the "OK" position, not press the enter key. Then you can store it along with a frequecy in a memory position.
