I can report seeing significant damage along Groesbeck in Macomb County heading from Clinton Township up to M59. Groesbeck was flooded northbound at Cass, and numerous businesses had their signs blown apart, with some strewn all over the road. Several Clinton Township fire vehicles passed me going southbound on Groesbeck.

WWJ was reporting that Lakeside Mall was evacuated, with patrons being ushered to some sort of shelter. I'm currently on M59 at work, and its completely calm now.

Hope everyone made it through OK!

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down Thursday night in Macomb County.

One tornado hit in the area of Hall Road near Hayes in Macomb Township... the other touched down near Groesbeck Highway just north of 16 Mile Road in Mount Clemens.

The Mount Clemens twister touched down around 7:43 p.m., and was on the ground for approximately 5 minutes before lifting back up near 14 Mile Road and Harper Avenue. The National Weather Service says the tornado measured about 200 yards wide, and it traveled more than 3 miles.

I walked outside at 8pm and saw large cumulus clouds to the north with a low hanging cloud tailing the storm. It was a lowering and didn't look like a wall cloud because of the distance from the storm, but there was some good wind blowing out of it to the south. I don't know if that was some RFD or not.

It seems every time there is a good storm I miss it. I didn't even know severe weather was possible that day. But I'm glad no one got hurt.
