I have a BCD996P2 and only have the Collins and Ames towers programed in with Ames and Story County talk groups. I haven't changed any programming in it for a long time. This past week or so I have noticed that after some traffic has end from either dispatch or a unit and the scanner is still within the delay I am picking up traffic from other agencies. Like just a few minutes ago dispatch unkeyed and right after that I heard a Jasper County unit clear a traffic stop and asked to be put on the Newton fire. I have used a scanner for a long time but admittedly don't know all the ends and outs. Is this just a weakness of the scanner and the simulcasting? I figured I would ask here to see if anyone else was having the same problem since the system they are running is still a temporary setup.
I think the Collins site carries traffic for Marshalltown and Jasper counties and maybe Polk too. You'd probably want to lock out those talk groups or delete them from your programming if you don't want to listen to them, or just scan the Ames site.
The Collins tower does have Marshall and Jasper, but I am also getting the "bleed" from the Ames tower. It doesn't happen all the time but this past week seems a little more often then usual. I only have the Story County talk groups programmed. I have both Ames and Collins towers programmed because it depends on weather and everything else where I get better reception from. Can't wait until the new tower 3 miles from me is live.
Gotcha, no I haven't noticed anything weird off the Ames site but I only listen intermittently. I'll keep an eye out for it
Sounds like the switchover took place to new talk groups. So far Ames Fire Ops1 is 48503. Unconfirmed is 28508 as the old APD Parking Ops3 and unconfirmed APD on 28502. Slow at night so hard to confirm. Heard the County talking on the old channels and Sheriff Dispatch advised them to use the new channels but have not them yet with new talk group IDs. Both the Ames site 800 and Wallace Hall 700Mhz sites seem active.
Encryption on 28505..... And a correction not sure about the Ames 800Mhz site being used.
I just entered a new site that I've been decoding for about the last week when bands are open. It's using some of the same frequencies as the Wallace Hall site, just a different RFSS, Site ID, and NAC. It appears the Wallace Hall site is now only using 771.09375 and 771.50625.
This morning bands are open for me to listen to it with DSD+, here are my notes:
28501 - Story Co Law Dispatch (previously 58592)
38525 - Cy-Ride (was 58557)
38526 - Cy-Ride Admin (was 58558)
28509 - ISU PD Dispatch (was 58573)
28502 - Story Co Law 2? (was 58593)

28505 - Encrypted - might be Ames PD...Heard a unit on old Ames PD TG 58569 asking for a radio check, then saw traffic on 28505 on the new system.

Maybe I mis-read this thread, but how is a Window's based software decoding P25 Phase II TDMA?
And why would anyone want to go to SARA when there is state-wide coverage with ISICS?

Fwiw my Ames/Story County feed got a no audio report and the only tower I send was the 800mhz Ames site. They said they only heard I think Mary Greeley ambulance. I won't be able to even look at it until tonight or tomorrow.
I also feed the Ames site to Calls and starting yesterday or the day before I've been getting hit with a lot of emails saying node offline/online/offline/online.
Does anyone know if the radio IDs/unit IDs are the same or have those changed as well?
Today I'm not receiving anything from the 800Mhz. I'm only receiving the 700Mhz off Wallace Tower. Talk group IDs have changed. Combined with the info N0ZJT added so far we have:

48513 possibly Mary Greeley paging for Ames. They responded on 48503. I also agree with the below
North of Ames the only control channel that I can use is the 769.09375 wherever it is and it makes use of all the old channels for talk groups. I can't copy anything on the 2 channel system. Maybe its aimed in a different direction from me.

28510 is ISU something... I just sat down and they were saying something about assisting someone with a flat tire. ISU Parking? ISU Help Van? Are those the same people?
I also just started a Calls node for the site; this took offline my Ames site node (I was getting spammed with online/offline notifications anyways). I don't remember who all has access to the unidentified TGIDs but I'm streaming everything that SDRTrunk will pick up in Huxley.
