Just noticed a strange issue when editing names on the bc346xt. Here is an example. On the local 800 trs system (MOT) when I am scanning when the scanner stops on a frequency and I want to change the name, I hit the E/yes key while it is stopped on that channel, and it goes right into the options for that channel (edit name, edit tgid, etc...). I then hit the e/yes again to edit the name. I then make the changes to the name. For this test I had 'COUNTY FIRE A' programmed as the name and then changed it to 'DOUNTY FIRE A' and then hit E/yes when I was done making the changes. The scanner returned to the options for that channel (edit name, edit tgid, etc...) and then I hit the SCAN button to return to scanning mode. What I noticed after doing this is that I now have multiple instances of that channel. When the scanner stops on 'COUNTY FIRE A' I can hit the scan button and then it will stop on 'DOUNTY FIRE A'. So it appears that somehow I'm getting multiple copies of the same channel when editing the name descriptions as described above. After changing a 5-10 names this way, it is really easy to see the problem happening. Just keep hitting the SCAN button when there is traffic on a channel that you've changed the name on and it will alternate randomly from 'COUNTY FIRE A' to 'DOUNTY FIRE A'

Is the system programmed into the scanner multiple times? (If you program with software and fail to mark "erase first" this will happen.)

Thanks UPMan, that is exactly what it was..the system was in there twice. I forgot that I copied the system to make a backup of it and didn't realize it was scanning that one too. I don't have the usb cable yet so I can't program it through the software yet. Have just been programming it by hand and that's why I wanted the backup of the system but I forgot to lock that backup out! I'll be spending the next 10 minutes fixing all my mispelled names that I changed while testing out that problem hahaha...
