i was just recently trying to add more freq's and talkgroupIDs within the new bank of freq's

i added all of the following freq's: http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=5088

from the primary\RED then alt.\BLUE then did all the black ones from left to right. then started adding in the Marion County Sheriff Talkgroups "1001 - 1007" and when i'm entering it in in my PRO-97, it says i entered in 992 instead of 1001. why's it doing that?

also, when i try to put in 1020, it says i'm putting in 1008? what the?

why can't i enter in 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007 and 1008?

i'm doing this in bank 4 in MOT mode...

seems the implied 0 was excluded from the hex->decimal conversions...

3e9 hex = 3e90 hex talkgroup = 16016 decimal

multiply the decimal value by 16 to get the correct id

so i would enter in 16016?

if i enter that in it goes in as, 16016 instead of 1001?

i'm not able to enter in hex, i can only enter in 6 digits

You've got a bigger problem. The system you've linked to is Marion County, Florida, an all digital system, and the PRO-97 isn't a digital scanner. It won't work no matter how you enter the info!

i saw that D in the type it was and thought it was a digital scanner. isn't trunking partially digital? or is trunking all analog?

A trunked system can have audio that is analog or digital, or a combination of both. The new Marion County system is all digital, I believe. So the PRO-97 is out. You will need a PRO-96, or a Uniden BCD396T or BCD996T to hear it.

BTW, where's the "D" in "PRO-97"?

no, the type in the OP link. where it says "Mode" it has a "D". that's what i meant...lol not in the model name of the scanner...

although now that you mention it, i woulda thought that the PRO-97 would be a more up-to-date version of the PRO-96. as well as the ones before it. guess it's not much of a version or signification of which came first or not?
