Theres a strange thing going on around here unless there's an UNLISTED frequency in TN, Let me explain why I say that.. For the last oh say 2 months, I've been hearing Obion County 911 and Troy Fire Dept. I don't think this is considered skip since it's not really that far, However, Here's the strange part.. I'm hearing them here on my county fire frequency which is repeater output 154.445 and repeater input 151.025, Now in order for the 154.445 repeater to be repeating the signal, That would have to put Troy OR Obion county one transmitting with an OUTPUT of 151.025.. I am not finding this in the DB, can someone explain how I'm hearing a place that almost if not over a 100 miles away by way the crow flies on one of my channels here that doesn't even match up to theirs?

Who cares to tackle or explain this one, lol

Thanks!

I can't say anything about the frequency you are hearing them on but, I hear Kentucky State Police from my house ALL the time and I am 80 miles from the nearest repeater they use and they are also P25 digital so you can see how well I receive them.
They are simulcast on many freqs through out the state and I receive them on more than one freq they utilize putting the other repeaters over 100 miles from my location.
If Obion Co. does have an unlisted frequency they are using, it might be something they started using recently and just hasn't showed up in the FCC database just yet, just a thought on that.
Another thing to consider, my local Sheriff has a frequency they use for car to car communications. It doesn't show up in the FCC database either, but it is licensed to them, go figure. There might be a similar situation with Obion County, you never know.

None of the Obion frequencies are close to your local freq pairs.
On the other hand Gibson Co has 151.025 MHz as output on their highway department repeater.

Speaking of Gibson County..............

Gibson Co. Fire Dispatch's output is the same as Vanndale Fire's input - same tones and all - and they walk all over Vanndale FD here in Cross Co. (see below).

I hear Gibson Co. all the time on my Pro 97 / 2055 & my PSR 500.....Vanndale has got to be hearing the same as well don't ya think?

Seems as if someone needs to change tones to solve this problem.

Vanndale Fire Department (Cross Co., AR)
155.22000 159.13500 WPWZ441 RM 156.7 PL Vanndale FD Fire Dept. FM Fire Dispatch

Gibson, County of (Gibson Co., TN)
159.13500 153.89000 WNQW781 RM 156.7 PL Gbsn FD Disp Fire Department - Dispatch FM Fire Dispatch
