I was listening to the Denver EDACS system this afternoon with my bcd396 in ID SCAN mode and saw several strange TG IDs come across... -ie-

i09168 freq 858.4875
i08568 freq 855.4875

I've not seen a TG ID which starts with an 'i'?? Probably a stupid question but I'd appreciate any info...

Those are i-calls. The number is the radio ID. Two radios can talk directly to each other without others being in the conversation.
In our county they call it Individual and it's often used for general chit-chat, raising units who are not on the dispatch channel, or talking directly with air support.

Those are EDACS system radio id's used for I-Call communications (so-called private conversations).

The dispatchers can monitor/record I-Calls along with us Uniden Scanner owners.

But of course you can not and should ever monitor those i-calls with the non-commercial grade radio, especially if you are a Denver tax payer that is.
