Just a heads up for anyone in the Strathroy/London/Sarnia area that this Wednesday is the Strathroy-Caradoc Emergency Services day. In a nutshell it's a parade then static display of emergency vehicles from over 50 agencies including RCMP, OPP, FBI, Michigan State Police, Coast Guard and many many other emergency services. Also scheduled to be displayed is an OPP and Coast Guard helicopter. I'm curious to see some of the radio equipment installed in some of the vehicles, not to mention see what Close Call hits I can get on my 246t. I believe the display is all day long at the Gemini Sportsplex, which is in the North end of Strathroy on Second Street, just south of the 402. The parade is scehdule to go past the public schools in town at I believe 9am, with the static displays to follow after that.

Grabbed a few close call hits this morning already.... I'm hearing some P25 chatter on 410.1875 (I had heard this frequency active before while in the Sarnia area down by the water.... so I'm assuming it's from a Michigan agency). Also have some guys chatting on 852.5250. No clue who they are. I thought I might hear some talk on the I-TAC channels but nothing so far.

Just wondering if it may be a talk-around freq. ? Our fire service uses the 851 -852
range for that purpose.

Sounds like you are enjoying yourself :) Have fun !

Ah! Never thought of them. They had a big display setup showing a wide array of their weapons and hardware. Interestingly enough when I heard the chatter it wasn't encrypted. I think it's always been encrypted any other time I've heard it. And boy, from looking thru the various cruisers on hand the Motorola Spectra sure is the most popular. Saw a few different Mot models like the MCS, and saw an officer from the States with a GE MPA on his belt, and of course London PD with their LPE's & Orions. There was one Toronto car I stuck my head into, and the Spectra showed 'A3-Simplex'... According to the database, I'm assuming that would be: 857.48750 110.9 PL A3-SIMP-1 District 1 Simplex. I was hoping to get a look into one of the RCMP cruisers to see what they had in there, but they were closed up and you couldn't really get too close to them. Saw a few American cruisers with various older Uniden scanners in them, as well as the London PD mobile command unit. It had what looked like a BC-895XLT built into one of the consoles. It was an interesting day all in all, just to see the various hardware. CF-OPP was on hand showing off it's goodies, and I got some pics of one of Peel regions new Dodge Charger cruisers (with the 6.2L Hemi). Man that thing looks bad-ass!

Here are a few....

The Peel Dodge Charger, An Acura that London PD has done up, a shot of the communications end of the LPD command vehicle (sorry it's blurry) and Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Rescue 16.

And just a couple more... Apologies to those on a slow connection!

1st two are shots of the display the OPP TRU team had setup. They had a piece of about 3/4" thick steel plate that had been penetrated by an armor piercing round... that was pretty impressive. And scary.

Next shot is a random shot of the console in CF-OPP, then a Ferdale Michigan car (and his console)

Forts.................hate to break it to but Peel Regional Police do not have the hemi in the car they brought to Strathroy. Spoke to them about it while having supper with them. Apparently they are to roll out 30 new Chargers in the next few weeks.

Really....strange. There were a group of officers from various services standing there talking about the 6.2L Police Package. I guess Peel didn't pony up for that. But they are out there!
