WME (Windows Media Encoder) would allow you to do that, you would have a remote-control program for your scanner running that would be displaying what the scanner is doing and then have WME capture the contents of that window and include in the stream as video. If you listened to your feed using Windows Media Player you would be able to see what frequency/talkgroup you were listening to.

An alternative, if you have a Uniden scanner and stream your scanner to a SHOUTcast or Icecast server, would be to use Talkgroup Monitor to embed the channel/talkgroup information in the feed. With this method you would be able to still provide an audio-only feed and still see the frequency/talkgroup/channel name you're listening to when using iTunes, Winamp, fStream (on the iPhone), etc., the information would show up in your player in place of song title information.

You can also do this with ProScan if you don't mind installing a special program wherever you want to be able to listen to your scanner.

I just set this up last night on my Boca Box feed and once I figured out a missing piece of the puzzle it works GREAT!

Gordon, you might want to note that after enabling Title streaming in Simplecast, ensure that the string

$combine$

appears in the field below the checkbox. I had previously cleared this field while playing around with Simplecast and your Talkgroup Monitor would do everything but put the titles in the stream. I created a new stream and saw that string in the new setup, so I copied it to my existing stream and it started working.

You might want to add this to your Simplecast readme instructions just in case.

I highly recommend this to Icecasters and Shoutcasters!

Now I gotta see if this will work with my Uniden 780, but I doubt it.
