So I currently have 2 SDRs that I use to monitor my local P25 system via SDRTrunk. There is someone who already broadcasts the system to OpenMHZ and Broadcastify, and if for some reason they ever take their feed offline I would like to take over for them. I am trying to find a good way I would stream the system to the sites. The only way I can think of is to leave my PC on 24/7 and use that to stream the system. Now I really don’t want to do that because it is energy consuming and just not good for the PC to be running constantly. Is there any other way to stream the SDRs to the sites, such as a virtual machine? I know there might be some way to do it with a Raspberry Pi, but I have no idea. If you have any ideas, drop them below!

The easiest way to do this with a RPi may be to download the Broadcastify image located here.

It uses trunk recorder and has almost everything you need already pre-installed. You will need to create a config.json file and a talkgroups.csv file (OpenMHz only). Examples are here on the examples line.

I haven’t used SDRTrunk so I can’t tell you if it easier to configure for the websites but you will still have to create the config, talkgroup and an upload file.

I see, thank you for the detailed instructions! Seems very elaborate, but if this is the only option it'll have to do!

It’s not the only option. It just seems to be the easiest one. If you enjoy trying to figure things out then you may want to try SDRTrunk.

SDRTrunk runs well on a pi. You need to make sure that you set it up using the 64 bit version of the Pi OS as that is what SDRT requires. The most recent version of SDRT (0.6.0) includes the option to stream to OpenMhz as well as Broadcastify. Since you apparently are already familiar with SDRT this might be the less-hassle route. However, either SDRT or TR will work well.

One advantage of TR is that you can stream individual talkgroups to separate UDP/TCP ports. This can be helpful if you are doing some downstream processing of the audio.
