Any help would be greatly appreciated

The exact status of Stridesberg is a puzzler. They are indeed virtually impossible to reach, picking up their phone only when they want to and definitely not all the time. But they respond to new orders, with shipping of units often occurring fairly quickly. It appears that though the original head of the company may no longer be active, family members are keeping things going.

It's probably the amplifier device in it that has blown. You can take it apart and look at that component, something like a SPF5189z, that needs to be replaced. If you can't solder you can probably contact the nearest HAM club and ask if they can help you with that, for a 6pack donuts.

I had emailed Stridsburg regarding a repair for my MCA204M, back in the beginning of November 2024. I received a reply from Chris the same day, telling me they could fix it and turn around was likely a few days. For context, I had accidentally transmitted into my MCA204M when a transceiver had been in line (dropped the mic while moving it), and the unit was long out of warranty.
I sent the unit in and waited to hear from them. Around the beginning of December, I emailed with a follow up asking for an update. I received a reply about two weeks later, apologizing for the delay, and notifying me the unit had been repaired and shipped back to me.
I also received an invoice for the repair, $48, but I had no instructions on how to pay, and I sent my PayPal info to them requesting an invoice through PP. Never hearing back from them, I tried and found them on PayPal using their email address and submitted payment. I hope they got it.
Kind of a strange interaction, but they fixed my out-of-warranty multicoupler at a reasonable price, and I cannot complain about that. But you may have to be patient with them.

I also had a 2-way portable radio connected and accidentally touched its PTT button when lifting it out of its charger stand. I asked Stridsberg what a new amplifier device would cost and they sent me a new one without cost. It was the only thing that needed to be replaced. They had great customer support at that time, 20 years ago. But their multicoupler didn't perform and measured any better than any other solution I had using TV antenna amplifiers and CATV splitters and todays amplifiers using P103+ low noise devices are one or two grades better for weak signal monitoring so I no longer use that Stridsberg, together with their FM trap filter that are unsuitable for my monitored frequencies.

This is a really interesting post, for reasons I'll write below.

I agree with @dxace1 comment that the company "Stridesberg" quote:

... "The exact status of Stridesberg is a puzzler. They are indeed virtually impossible to reach, picking up their phone only when they want to and definitely not all the time. But they respond to new orders, with shipping of units often occurring fairly quickly. Some of you that have replied have been successful in communication with Stridesberg and have had your issue resolved. My 2 cent on that is luck was on your side that day.

I recently purchased the MCA104M "HF Receiver Multicoupler" and upon installing the device I made the careless mistake of connecting my Bias-T the wrong way around. I connected the HF+DC side/output to the input of the multicoupler which resulted in an instant death to the multicoupler.

I emailed Stridesberg admitting my carelessness, yep, 100% my fault and asked if they would repair it, replace it, whichever; and I'd obviously pay for the repair cost plus shipping. Bare in mind that this multicoupler was only a few weeks old from purchasing brand new -- but still it was my fault. They never replied to that email and still to this day, this second, they haven't replied.

I emailed them again and as a way of a reminder I stated it was my fault and would they repair it. Only this time in the same email I said I have just paid for a new multicoupler because I just want to get things working here and thought it be quicker to order a new one and deal with repairing the blown multicoupler later.

So twice I made them aware of this damaged multicoupler yet in the second email they seem to have bypassed reading my reminder of a repair but keenly chose to send out a new one that I had paid for.

That is not good customer service in my opinion. It's shocking. I'm quite disgusted. There's a thumbs down icon for them. (n)

I appreciate the responses, however I am still looking for some place (other than the sporadic Stridesburg) to repair this thing. Any help in this realm would be greatly appreciated.
