Strong 800 MHz tropo in FL

Receiving Motorola trunk system 651E from Wilmington, NC. in Lake Mary, FL (confirmed by system ID and frequency) Must be some of that strong coastal tropo over the Atlantic (even though I am at least 30 miles from the Atlantic in air miles).

Yes...it has been very open. I am on the SE Coast of FL and have been DXing many far federal systems. This link shows the hot spots in near real-time.

Years ago I worked on LTR 800s on the southwest coast of Fl., and during the summer it was common to hear people in Daytona Beach with the same home channel/ID plain as day. We owned both systems(American Mobile Systems). We figured the right hand wasn't watching the left hand when they assigned the same home channel # to the same freq in the same state.

I guess that was more ducting than tropo though.
