My son and I have started studying the Gordon West, W5YI Group course for my Technician License. I have already read through the first 90 pages this morning! My son is reading HAM Radio For Dummies. I will read it when he is done. I was able to get most of the questions right. I'll need to go back and focus on the math and frequency questions but feel I am doing pretty good so far. I am going to make up some flash cards to also drill in areas I feel I need extra attention in. So far the most everything seems very logical. The next test is on the 17th, but I am not going to push it. I will wait for the next exam to come around...

good deal, honestly if you know a little something about radios and electronics the tech test is really not that hard. Good luck to you and your son! Hope to hear you on D-Star! :)

Read some of the book and kicked it up to a 28 out of 35. There were several questions that I second guessed my answers instead of going with my gut. I should have followed my gut, they were the right answers.

Hey Budog, way to forget to tell all of them your test score! J/K Dad, we both passed, I received a score of 34/35. Now just waiting (impatiently might I add) for that ULS update with my name on it!

They are the same, if you can answer any of the pool of 392 questions then the 35 question test will be a breeze.
