Old head with scanning but new to digital and trunking. Long story short just got a BC796D and using the demo version of ARC250 Basic. When I use mem files that I picked up on another site it works just fine. When I alter an existing file or try to build my own (lots of cut and paste) it doesn't work. I've tried building a mem file from scratch using all the data listed here. I used the NCC freqs then built the Talk IDs for each bank. The file uploads fine. Problem is it does'nt scan meaning it does but won't stop. Manually it works except it does'nt display the Tag ID. Obviously I'm overlooking something simple. Any ideas? I've attached a copy of my file if any of you would like to puruse it. Just rename the file extension to the appropriate one

Hello,
Assuming you are in trunk mode and all of the channels are programmed as trunked moto typeII...

Do you hear conversatins when you go to search mode?

Sounds like Motorola settings not complete. Must be on freq as well as system settings. Try Controller only mode. Review the flow chart.

Hello again,
I had a chance to look at your mem file a little closer (The State TRS banks) and noticed that except for the UDPD and NCCPD channels most of the programmed TG's are used VERY little or encrypted.
Especially Bank 1's ID's

I also noticed that the FD TG's were pasted into the TG list but you need to go thru and actually hit "Enter" on every TG so that it becomes a 6 digit # otherwise it will not track those TG's. ARC is a little picky that way.

Also, in the past DEMO mode only let you upload band #1 so it's possible you don't have the radio programmed like you think you do.

Manually check the freq's in the other banks (And TG's)

Just as another sanity check make sure you are receiving the data channel on 868.2125 for the state system.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,
That was it, Operator Timing and Head Space  In some respects this thing is tougher to program than the new multi mode radios the military uses. Again thank you all for the help.
