Successful ACARS decoding?

Right. So it seems it's much better to get ADSB going to see all the flights appear on a map.

If I am using ADSB Sharp, I tick Mode S/ADS-B and then which in the column to I check? There are many choices?

Also, if I am using SDR Sharp tuned to 1090 MHZ, which do I tick off in that same column?

Definitely. ACARS is a nice addition to having an ADSB receiver, but by itself it won't meet the need for seeing plots on the map.

With ADS-B not becoming mandatory until 2020, I suspect it'll be kinda thin. I get quite a bit of LAX traffic - the freight folks (UPS & FedEx) and international flights almost always have lat/lon. Other than that, my lat/lon data is kinda sparse too.
