I had a good time this evening from 0200 to 0245 UTC. I caught SW signals from Turkey, South Korea and Madagascar. Used the Qodosen DX-286 and a retractable wire (indoors) to find most of them. I checked to see if the Tecsun PL-660 could get them, and it mostly could, although not as well. The last one, from Kimjae, South Korea, I got out the XHData D-109WB, and it tuned it just as well as the Qodosen did. All three radios are pretty sensitive. Propagation is excellent tonight.

I did pretty well last night. Conditions were pretty good. I'll be hopping on in a little bit. I picked up Japan really well including Radio Nikkei that is usually hit or miss for me here in Hawaii.🤙🏻

Things have been good the last couple of nights. I've been able to pick up signals from France coming in loud and clear from indoors on the whip.

I have only gotten France twice. Both times wirh a weak signal. Maybe when conditions are better I'll have better luck.🤙🏻

I'm in the Chicago suburbs, not to far from Todd Erbert. Definitely not looking like Hawaii here now!
I grew up on the East side diwn. Y tge Indiana state line. Then I moved to Wisconsin when I was 17 so we know about tge cold. We have been in Hawaii for six years now. We certainly don't miss the weather.

I wish I would have started my interest in radio back then but I am learning a lot. 🤙🏻

It seems like you know a lot more than I do about radio from your videos. I like the covers with the descriptions for some of your radios too, they must be custom made.

Not really, I am very new and learning all the time.

Yes, I got the covers from a company in Michigan. They have covers for many many radios already made. I just added my nickname. Oddly they didn't have one listed for the DX-394 but they made it for me. They are only about $25 depending on what you want. Great company to work with. 🤙🏻

NW Burbs here.
When I first started watching Todd Erberts videos I noticed he was picking up a lot of the same stations I was, especially the weather channels. I wondered how he got better reception than I did until he had a video on what he does to make that happen.

For a guy who came from the SE side of Chicago and with a nickname of Slippery you seem pretty respectable. Or are you setting us up for the long con....🤔

I got the nickname decades ago in my youth. I haven't been around anyone who calls me that for decades. Lol

I've only picked up French broadcasts a couple of times, and the signals were pretty faint. I’ll be traveling to France this June, so I’ve been keeping an ear out for stations from over there lately. I’ve also been reading up on the country a bit, this guide has been pretty useful Tourism In France Statistics 2025: The Ultimate Guide. Hoping conditions are good enough one of these nights to catch something loud and clear!

People here say they get a lot of strong signals from Issoudun, but I only get them every so often where I am.

Not much doing here at 0120 UTC on Memorial Day weekend Saturday. R. Romania International has been booming day and night on multiple frequencies this past week, and they are about the only overseas thing I’m getting tonite. 15770, WRMI in Okeechobee is about 1500 miles from here, but they might as well be a local AM station.

Meanwhile, 6070 kHz from Toronto is coming in, and that‘s one I don’t often get here. 🤷‍♂️

The wonders of propagation...
