I think its supposed to rain up north and be cooler, a NE damp flow.

The Low pressure system looks to be powerful enough to give the north some needed damp and cool weather for the next few days (the humid hot air looks to be confined to the SW, prob not making its way to Toronto).

Good luck up there, it is extremely dry down here, the grass is turning brown here and there are lots of grass fires.

MNR planes of all types and a Herc have been working out of North Bay as well since things have intensified.
It's not good up here at all.

MNR Fire Site
Current Forest Fire Situation in Ontario

All OPP coms relating to the fire have been on 3TAC02 for over a week now with MNR patched in as well.
Lots of interesting traffic including road blocks, evacs, escorting out cottagers/homeowners escorting in EMS personell etc.

On an unrelated note, 3TAC01 has been in use due to a major formaldehyde spill into Trout lake in North Bay on the long weekend. Also not good!

Anybody hearing anything on the MNR loband channels?

IIRC, 46.480Mhz is used by North Bay fire control. I can usually hear it active in Temagami.

Mike: The MNR low band channels they were using in Timmins were 46.580 and 46.800 with UHF repeater stations on 413.3125 (Tembec) and 415.0125 mhz. - The "bird dog" waterbombers and helicopters were using 122.125 mhz. The forest fire situation in the Timmins area is now classed as "being held".

Hey dvdbir. U said they were using: 413.3125 (UHF). Do you know what the tone is they are or were using for it. And do you know if they are still using that UHF channel. So I can have a listen to it the next time I am in Timmins. Let me know.

Thanks dvdbir.

Ok. I will put CTCSS: 103.5 on 413.3125. Thanks.

And you say they were using: 418.3125. Would you happen to know the CTCSS Tone for this one.
Just so I can have it all set to go with the tones (if they are still using it) the next time I get down to Timmins.

So let me know the TONE for the TX (418.3125).

Thanks dvdbir.

K thanks for the info dvdbir. I appreciate it.

Yup that I do have 2 digital scanners and just wanted to get the tones from here so I can have it entered in and have it ready to go with the tones for when I go down to Timmins. So I can continue scanning everything else along with this MNR UHF FIRE LINK.

And yah I always use my tone finder on freq's I come across that I never heard before and don't know if they use a tone or not.

Thanks again.
