Hi,

Back into hobby, after many years.
Have a Uniden SDS 200.

I remember years ago, with an older scanner, I had no problem
at all in monitoring my Town's PD, Sudbury, Mass. (Middlesex).
Would like to again.

Pretty sure (but perhaps not) that I have it programmed correctly in Sentinel, and downloaded to
the scanner corruptly.

Hear nothing. Absolute silence. Not even static.

It's show as 852.9125 and NAC443 in RR
Also, P25e.

The "e" might be the problem.

Have they gone encrypted, now, on most everything ?

Might anyone if they have a spare minute try and see if they can pick it up, or am I possibly doing
something, as usual, incorrectly in programming it ?

Thanks, appreciate the help,
Bob

Hi,

Thanks for help; really appreciated.

Let me show my ignorance here.

Using Sentinel. (SDS 200)

Where in Sentinel do I change what's there for this, or create an additional Sudbury PD site, with DPL 023 ?

Looked, but just can't seem where to pull up this option in Sentinel ?
Is this in place of "NAC 443" ? Big list of NAC's, but no DPL in it ?

And, should everything else remain the same ?

Thanks again for help,
Bob

Likely your radio software references DCS

DCS is the same as DPL
PL is the same as CTCSS, Channel Guard [CG], Tone

See Page 58 of the radio manual

For an 800 MHz frequency where you won't hear a lot outside of your local operation area, I would just run it in the open tone search mode.
You can monitor it for a bit using quick search and see what you hear.
(Channel - 852.9125 - Channel). The small e indicates partial encryption. Sudbury is a town that we've only ever received scattered reports from.
It really needs to be confirmed.

For ecps please:

Re your suggestion to: "They also have been known to use DPL 023. Try both see what you get"

Do you think it would be using, also, the 852.9125 ?

Yes Same Freq as the P25, they have been known to use both DPL and P25
Many agencies maintain Dual-Mode Repeaters for various reasons , one being legacy interop

As AlexC said, they're in the clear. NAC 443 as well. Heard them two mornings in a row in Needham. Not strong but enough to decode intelligble audio and the NAC tone.
