I thinks that's your problem,,your listening on a analog scanner,,you need a digital scanner to pick them up on an apco 25 system.

I just looked at it in the state base now I know what you mean ,it is mixed mode and one is a Dpl tone and one is a NAC code. That's the first I seen that
155.73000 KCA430 RM 306 DPL Suffield PD Police (Mixed Mode) FMN Law Dispatch
155.73000 KCA430 RM 306 NAC Suffield PD Police (Mixed Mode) P25 Law Dispatch

East Longmeadow, Mass is both digital and analog.

155.55000 PD Dispatch is both DPL 114 and 114 NAC. The FD Dispatch on 155.76000 is the same way, DPL 132 and NAC 132.

It is very odd, they sometimes only xmit analog and sometimes only P25 for PD. FD is always analog, sometimes also P25.

What scanner do you have? If you have an older BCD996T or that line up, you have to make sure that you have the program setting for audio type to "Digital" and not "Auto". That could be causing some fo your problems. If there is a nearby interference or another entity using the same frequency in analog it could be not switching over to decode the digital if the setting is on "auto".

They can do encryption but are mainly P25/analog mixed mode in the clear. Same as FD.

I know about the two depts I was just asking if anyone's heard them lately I'm guessing they went encrypted big possible

East Longmeadow was in the clear a few days ago. They normally have very little traffic. I don't monitor Suffield, but EL seems to mostly call in traffic stops, acknowledge a response to a shoplifting call, etc.

It means not encrypted. Has nothing to do with digital modulation.
