Suggestions for 06 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4

Any suggestion on where to mount a Uniden 996T with the remote head in a Nissan
Pathfinder ?

The darn control cable is only 10 ft long, and I originally wanted to mount the radio
under the 3rd row seat next to a remote Spectra, with the scanner remote head in the dash, but control cable is not long enough.

Scanner won't fit IN the dash.

No room under the 2nd row seats. Zero clearance.

Suggestions welcome.

I'm contemplating under the passenger seat, but then it's exposed to spills and I have to deal with the hvac ducting under the seat in the way.

Scanner won't fit IN the dash.

I have an 06 Nissan XTerra with the 996 in the dash because the factory deck was a double DIN size so I bought a single DIN radio/CD and mounted the 996 just below it (more correctly stated, the guys at Best Buy did the install on the stereo and the scanner). The only thing I remoted was a speaker under the driver's seat for the scanner.

I thought the XTerra and the Pathfinder were fairly similar interior/dash setups.

Did the remote mount thing for my Icom ID-800 in that location. I thought it actually made it easier because then I knew what I could drill without causing damage.

Thanks, I really don't want to mess with the factory stereo, and around here
Best Buy would be the LAST place I would take it for an install. LOL

Looks like it goes under the passenger seat and the remote head in the
shelf under the A/C controls with super-velcro.
