I copied my message from the Yahoogroups! Bayscan group to here for some broader coverage. When I mention 'Files Area' that refers to the Bayscan YahooGroup.
Given the broader scope of this board, what other sumertime targets do folks monitor?
I have helped contribute to a fairly extensive Disneyland profile. It is floating about somewhere on this board. Great fun listening to the various techs working hard to put together the 'magic'.
=============================================
Time to lather on sunscreen on your scanner and take it outside for
some fun and safe summertime fun...
Someone was asking about 'summertime' frequencies. As many on the
list know, I'm one of those strange IG-ie listeners and sumertime
means IG themepark licenses are starting to come active again.
According to Paramount Great America's website:
Sunday, May 28, beginning at 9pm, celebrate Memorial Day with a
world-class Fireworks Extravaganza at Paramount's Great America.
Choreographed to patriotic and popular music, it's one of the
largest fireworks displays in the Bay Area!
Frequencies for PGA can be found here:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=2883
I have submitted/verified all frequencies with a tone. However, I'm
not certain of some of the labels that the Database Admin chose to
use. I have not verified the hr, finance and marketing tac
frequencies. If someone does manage to snag a tone, I'd love to
know what it is.
One comment is that Ops/Maintenance(Ch #1) appears to be vacated for
some reason. I tried monitoring with Tone Search enabled, so it is
really silent and not a tone change. Ops/Maintenance can now be
found on Ch #4, which has been used for Entertainment/Fireworks.
The tone on Ch#4 has remained the same. I'll be interested to know
what they decide to do for the fireworks.
Depending on how crazy the traffic gets around PGA, you can monitor
Santa Clara City PD on:
1104 045 Police Special Ops 2
1136 047 Police Special Ops 3
For some reason, the Memorial Day fireworks aren't as crazy as
the 'El Quarto de Julio' or 4th of July as we like to call it.
If you go to the files section, under the WinXX section, you will
find Amuz_ncal.zip which contains a .p96 configuration for Great
America, Santa Clara City TRS (for when PGA get's 'out of control'),
Bonfante Gardens, Gilroy PS, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Santa Cruz
PS, Marine World, Vallejo PS and the FRS/GMRS/MURS/Itinerant and
freqs for Motorola's XTN 'business band' radios.
The FRS/GMRS/etc is used quite commonly by folks out having fun.
Also in the files section, under UASD Files is a file
MotorolaXTN.zip which contains these frequencies for Uniden's BC-
246T and BCD-396T.
Bonfante Gardens is 'another' Paramount Park operated in Gilroy.
Frequencies can be found here:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=3176
If somene can identify the missing holes, please let me know.
Finally, if you're going to a concert at the HP Pavillion, check out:
http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&aid=3402
You can go to the groups' website address and try searching for
messages:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bayscan/
I have posted frequencies for San Jose Egyptian Museum and Oakland's
Fairyland.
If anyone is interested, I'll upload files in UASD format for some
of these entertainment venues. As always, I look forward to hearing
back if folks used the profiles and if they managed to get some more
information. If folks have other interesting summer monitoring
targets, that would be fun to hear about too.
p.s. Anyone know where to get a listing of the Bay Area Memorial Day
fireworks displays?
