Good Afternoon,my name is Brian.I have a Home Patrol 2 scanner and I have basically every single agency programmed into the scanner in the state.My question is why is it 1 department the Summerville PD is the ONLY one I can't hear at all.I messaged a buddy of mine that works for them and asked him why we couldn't pick them up and he said that their channels can't be accessed.I was told by someone in one of my Dart groups I'm in that they are on a trunked system and encrypted if I can't pick them up at all.If someone out there could help me out with trying to figure out why I can't pick them up that would be great.Thanks for your assistance!

I don't know what county that agency is located in, but if it is a trunked encrypted system, you will not be able to receive on any scanner.
Under the county system it is under, check the type for each talkgroup and you may find police encrypted but fire or other agencies not.

they are in Dorch County i can pick the Sheriff's up but not the town of Summerville.it just sucks how I can hear every other town around here but them.makes you wonder what they are doing why they don't want anyone to listen in on them
It's been ages since I've been down there, but I believe that Summervile PD is encrypted meaning you won't be able to monitor them. There are a few talkgroups on the Plametto 800 system that are listed as "Summervile PD?" and are encrypted.
