Sumner SO is being dispatched on KSICS 602. I hear them on the Wichita site. I don't know if they have abandoned their LTR system or not. There are two new sites being added in for KSICS in Caldwell and South Haven. That would help them out and be an incentive to stay with KSICS. We shall see.
I know Wellington is using NXDN Conventional for Police and Fire Dispatch, and Mulvane Police and Fire are in the process of switching to either KSICS or the Sedgwick Co. system (so I’ve been told) with some, if not all TG’s being encrypted.
Most of the other law enforcement agencies are dispatched on the Sheriff Dept. KSICS TG (Oxford, Belle Plaine, Caldwell, etc).
As for the rest of the county Fire/EMS agencies; Most of the county is still dispatched on the old VHF paging system. I occasionally monitor it over here in Arkansas City. Then the respective agency moves to a OPS or TAC channel for fireground if needed.
I’d hope with the new sites going up around the county they’d consolidate everyone onto the KSICS system.
