I read in the Sumner Community Connection that the Sumner PD will soon join the Puyallup Trunked system. Supposed to happen any day now.
My scanner is always on Search and I haven't heard anything new yet.

My mistake:roll: I should have read the title. "Sumner’s Dispatch Service Gets Major Upgrade".
Looks like it's just the Sumner Dispatchers are moving to the Puyallup Dispatch center which is LESA. The way I read it now, Sumner PD is not going to the trunked system.

LESA does all sorts of things for different agencies. Things like records, warrants, CWP's and other stuff. LESA dispatches for PCSO, TPD, Lakewood PD, Ruston PD, Steilacoom PD, and DuPont PD. Puyallup gave up their fire dispatch with the merger of Puyallup FD and Central Pierce. They kept their PD Dispatch and cites like BL and other buy dispatch from them.

Thanks for the reply, it clears up a few questions I had.

eh i thought BL has their own dispatch. They're the only Digital around here. Plus they have a huge radio tower outside of the station. I'm most likely wrong though but thats just the way it seems for me.

Bonney Lake buys their dispatch from Puyallup?

I was under the impression that Bonney Lake and Orting bought their dispatch service from Buckley.

Bonney Lake was being dispatched by Sumner since 2003, but moved to Puyallup in either early or mid 2008; I can't recall which.

Orting is under Buckley.

So Sumner is giving up their dispatch center in the end of all this.

And so what really is unusual is that Puyallup would hold onto a dispatch center that their own PD doesn't use.

How long is Puyallup dispatch going to last now?

1- Sumner is giving up their dispatch center.

2- Sumner will be moving over to the Puyallup zone of the Puyallup/Tacoma/Lakewood 800 system. A source in the know confirmed this today.

3- Puyallup PD is dispatched by Puyallup.

4- Puyallup Fire merged with Central Pierce Fire, and they are dispatched by Tacoma, but apparently roam both zones (Tacoma and Puyallup).
