Sunbus Townsville

I am very new to scanners and am trying to find the frequency for Sunbus Townsville (Qld). I found the Sunshine Coast at 474.025mhz. Is the same freq used in Townsville as I get nothing on that frequency? I have a Uniden UBC355XLT scanner.

You could try using the ACMA database search feature:

https://web.acma.gov.au/rrl/register_search.main_page

Examples: search for the company name, or the same telecommunications company that holds the licence for the Sunshine Coast frequency, use the site search for sites within a certain radius of Townsville etc. There would be a lot of sites, but you never know what you might turn up of interest.

Try the band search feature of your scanner, or close call if it has that.

Also look at the antenna on the buses, whether they are VHF or UHF types will suggest which frequency range to search.

Thanks for that. Will do some more digging. I have had a couple of transmissions from close call but didn't know how to capture them. I now do and are waiting for it to happen again.
