This story, found on DRUDGE REPORT 2012®, attracted my attention this morning...

Space weather expert discusses solar flares - latimes.com

... in looking further only one item (so far) was found.

"BIG NEW SUNSPOT: New sunspot 1476 is large and crackling with impulsive M-class solar flares. Because of the active region's location near the east limb, the eruptions are not geoeffective, although this could change in the days ahead as the sunspot turns toward Earth."SpaceWeather.com -- News and information about meteor showers, solar flares, auroras, and near-Earth asteroids

Keep your ears and eyes on the sky. Maybe?

Sunspot 1476 burped out an M-6 flare around 0418 UTC this morning, and more are forthcoming. Spaceweather: "NOAA forecasters estimate a 65% chance of more M-class flares and a 10% chance of X-flares during the next 24 hours." Check the links above to see breaking news.
