I have noticed in the buildup before home games, events etc at Suntrust Park Cobb PD units (typically on STEP radio) indicate they are working for the night at the park and they are switching to Event 3 on the TRS....what is the tg number? It is not listed yet. It is not Disaster 3 FYI and it IS definitely on the Cobb TRS not one of the private radio systems down there. One other note, Cobb officers working at the Battery (shops, bars, concert venue) work off Zone 3 for dispatches, not this Event 3.

Try TG 31127. I put the system in ID Search and this quickly came up. They are talking about "red and orange lot" and "we need 7 wheelchairs at the left field gate".

The more I listen to it, the more I think this is the one you are looking for. Let us know.

Thank you, will add it...my guess is the previously unknown EVENT channels correspond with the precinct zone that the officers are working in (Suntrust Park is in Cobb Zone 3...hence EVENT 3). TY to poster.

That's definitely it...when a player hits a foul ball into the crowd they are calling out 'no injuries' on the talkgroup and some other in-park matters...probably would be good to listen to if there was some fan ejections or streakers hehe

Last year when I was at SunTrust the Braves were using the old LTR system they had at the Ted. Within that system was "first-aid" which were the ones that chased foul balls to insure everyone was safe. Now we are hearing that on the county P25 system. Do they still use the LTR system?

I'm going to continue to give it a listen and post more...if it's like Stone Mountain park they put all of the sworn Public Safety (Police/EMS) on a single channel...if for some reason it turns out not to be Event 3 it may be a ballpark EMS channel that county responders monitor on-site.

So riddle me this...why would they build a new stadium and not upgrade to a DMR system once they moved from Turner given the battery and surrounding areas are on DMR already? When I went there in June for a game, I could hear the parking lot employees talking on Analog simplex it sounded like on XPR7550 radios. Now the XPR will support LTR of course but for in stadium/surrounding stadium operations I would’ve thought DMR would be the way to go to link up multiple areas AND get the spectral efficiency of 2-slot TDMA with DMR.

Some more listening to this channel during tonight's game...there is a centralized radio dispatcher...there is a unit called Med-Ops, there is a Med-Com and there are units called Spotters with numbers and there is talk of gates and shuttles...seems to be a catch all...a call was handled in the sandlot for someone bleeding, a lot of the radio users are very poor at working the radios (not police officers) and there are lots of requests for traffic repeats as people are not talking properly into whatever radio they have down there that is broadcasting on the county system.

because they didn't want to scrap a radio system that met their needs and is supported by their vendor.
Hadn't the Braves already scrapped their LTR system at Turner Field years ago and were using a 900 MHz Smartnet system there more recently? So they scrapped their newer 900 MHz system and went back to their older LTR system when they moved to SunTrust Park?

Nevermind. I got the order wrong. They switched from the 900 MHz Smartnet system to the UHF LTR system around 2011. I thought it was the reverse.

and Turner is now on PDVs 900 CapMax for CNN Center, so moving the UHF LTR was the logical choice (and at least that's one aspect us Cobb taxpayers didn't have to finance was a new radio system for SunTrust Park as we've already been taken to the bank and then some...)
