In updating the Broome County conventional and CNYICC listings it was reported that the RRDB shows 453.275 as LCN02 on the SUNY Binghamton Vestal DMR CAP+ site. This is not possible since 453.275 is a Broome West Simulcast P25 CC and it has been verified SUNY does not use it. In investigating further I found Vestal DMR LCN03 453.050 is also listed in the RRDB as SUNY Security FMN.

So this calls into question all current RRDB listings for SUNY Binghamton. Does anyone in the area have accurate information on the status of their radio systems? I have deleted their use of 453.275 from the RRDB but all other listings remain until clarified.

This is probably the SUNY Binghamton Public Safety, EMS, Law legacy cross patch into some county VHF channels. Very rarely used.

Is the conventional 453.050 listing the legacy cross patch? How is it used at all if 453.050 is LCN03 on the SUNY DMR Vestal site?
I guess the real question is what are their DMR Cap+ channels at each site since 453.275 has definitely been ruled out?

Upon further review - I found that the SUNY Binghamton CAP+ information was submitted in 2013 and has not been updated. It was reported since then the 453.050 continued to be used for conventional SUNY Security so it obviously could not be part of the CAP+ system.

So I am deleting that from the CAP+ listing which leaves only two frequencies: 460.2625 for Vestal and 453.625 for Binghamton. There are other frequencies on the license but no activity has ever been reported. This raises the question of is the system still in use? If the RRDB listing is not complete and accurate it is of no value and I will delete it.

I would appreciate it if someone in the area could monitor 460.2625 and 453.625 for any evidence of continued CAP+ operation. If you only have a conventional scanner, just listen in NFM CSQ mode and see if you hear digital signals. CAP+ will normally transmit brief data bursts periodically on the "rest" channel during periods of no voice activity.

The more I look into the listing for the SUNY CAP+ system the more dubious the information becomes. The listing is now compromised to the point it is probably useless so I am going to Deprecate it until accurate current frequency information is submitted.

I am likely going to be in Binghamton in two weeks, and will throw it all in to see what I get there. I'll have a dedicated scanner on it.
