Anyone in and around Jacksonville monitoring their radios leading up to the Super Bowl? I was just wondering what people were hearing? I hear the Pres is coming to town as well. Thanks.

The State of Florida received a special temporary license for simplex (talk-around) use of several 800 MHz frequencies specifically for Super Bowl-related security.

From the application: "the channels will support marine law enforcement operations on the St. Johns River between Jacksonville and the Atlantic coast to the East, and separately in the Fernandina Beach and Intracoastal Waterway area to the North."

How many drunks with cell phones will that be?

on Florida Com yahoo group they are listing milair comms. A private plane was forced to land at St. Augustine that wouldn't leave the restricted area. They could pick up comms of the aircraft that did the flyover also the cap planes and the tanker refueling them.
