Also said that Air Space will be closed over LOS and aircraft will be kept 30 miles away.
Either you misunderstood what the WRTV reporter said or he misrepresented the facts. A total flight restriction within a 30-mile radius of LOS would shut down Indianapolis International Airport and most of the regional airports in the Indianapolis area.

If you want the facts of this TFR, go read the NOTAM:

2/4708 NOTAM Details

By the way, the link to the NOTAM was posted on page 1 of this thread.

No I did not misunderstand Bob W9RXR, The story is on the web site and you can read it for yourself. They will be keeping air traffic away from a 30mile radius of LOS North, South,East, and West according to CBP.The head man in charge on CBP was interviewed by Channel 6 on Camera. He said that this would be in effect over LOS. During the Super Bowl on Sunday Night 2-5-2012 If aircraft come to close t the Zone someone in the helicopter would get in view of the plane's pilot and flash a*Sign with a frequency* so that Pilot can talk to them and CBP can advise the pilot. If the Pilot does not comply with the order The Pilot's license(Could) be taken away from him link with video Indianapolis News, Indianapolis, Indiana News, Weather, and Sports - WRTV Indianapolis' Channel 6 Story can be found under *Local and Regional News*

Its been said in some local media that Anderson Airport will be the closest airport open with a tower during the game.

Anderson Airport Expects To Be SUPER Busy
23.01.12

Anderson Municipal Airport is expecting to be SUPER busy soon. Manager John Coon says he expects to have 20 to 30 corporate jets fly in for the Super Bowl. They plan to take advantage of that fact that Anderson is the first airport outside of the Indy no-fly zone. The airport plans to cater to Super Bowl air travelers with amenities like a permanent control tower, hangar space in case of inclement weather, a welcome booth hosted by the Super Bowl Committee and a hospitality room where flight crews can spend the day with food and beverages and watch the game

I used to live less than a mile from Anderson Airport, that would have been interesting listening Sunday.

You are correct in that is says 30 miles, but what you didn't post was "non-commercial flights".

Air Security To Be Tight Above Lucas Oil Stadium - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis

It's just like a Presidential TFR. All aircraft have to have a discrete transponder code to operate. Like stated commercial air traffic at Indianapolis will not be effected nor will medical flights. Now grant it they prob won't be allowed directly over the stadium but the proper aircraft can operate normally. The group that this is geared toward is the unsuspecting general aviation crowd that has done poor planning. They will be the ones getting eyed by CBP and possibly a visit from an F-16.

Joe pretty much summed it up. Here's what the TFR text says:

"All aircraft operations within the 10 NM ring area listed above are prohibited except for approved law enforcement, military aircraft, air ambulance, and regularly scheduled commercial passenger and all-cargo carriers...."

"For operations within the airspace between the 10 NM ring and 30 NM ring listed above, known as the outer ring: all aircraft operating within the outer ring listed above are limited to aircraft arriving or departing local airfields, and workload permitting, ATC may authorize transit operations. Aircraft may not loiter. All aircraft must be on an active IFR or VFR flight plan with a discrete code assigned by an air traffic control (ATC) facility. Aircraft must be squawking the discrete code prior to departure and at all times while in the TFR and must remain in two-way radio communications with ATC."

Yeah, that's the first thing I looked at. I'm assuming someone is leasing it, but not sure on that. He's currently out at Eagle Creek. :)

Yes, it's pretty easy to determine who owns it. Finding out how's leasing or chartering it is a different story. :) Just thought it was interesting that that particular aircraft was in the air quite a bit last night. :)

Will you share with all of us what Non-commerical flights are and how this applies to air traffic in the pattern of Indianapolis International Airport?

Commercial flights are flights flown for hire usually carrying passengers, like Delta or USAirways, or cargo, like FedEx or UPS. Generally, if you buy a ticket to get on an airplane, that's a commercial flight. Commercial flights generally identify on the air using their company name or nickname. Non-commercial flights are also known as "general aviation". This could be anything from a privately-owned Cessna or Piper to corporate-owned Lear jets. They generally identify on the air using their tail number, though they usually drop the "N".

Has anyone figured out where the CBP helicopters are staging? I haven't caught them on any of the local ATC channels once they clear downtown since they are flying low-level VFR...

- Chris

The CBP helios are parking at Signature Flight Support at KIND, if they are not in the air you can see them from the road,
