They claim almost nationwide coverage so it must be a PTT over LTE radio. Maybe that's from a Superior EMS in the US?

Perhaps they found it to be a cheaper option to be on their own as opposed to the new FleetNet? Like how Toronto EMS does it

I wonder if they would still maintain conventional VHF radios in the trucks for access to PCOM etc.

Edit - Looks like an Inrico network radio.

I don't think this is a regular EMS type unit. Think St. John Ambulance. They probably had a VHF channel for a repeater that was limited in use and went to this method.

Our local EMS (Renfrew County) has a RATT team dedicated for certain types of rescues. They have a separate VHF channel for those types of comms when in the bush.

I think this is pretty much the same type of service.

Probably a system like Zello. My company uses this system which is an app that can run on iOS and Android devices. There are also speaker mic's and headsets that can be added to the device. Very reliable unless the cell towers are down or you are out in a dead spot.

This would appear to be a private company that provides EMS services for private events and also does training. They have probably never been on Fleetnet, PCOM and most likely will not be on PSRN.

Here’s the real ambulance service in the area: Paramedic Services - Social Services Sault Ste. Marie

Mike you're right. One of the private EMS companies that do events. The radios shown are WiFi band so will be on one of the many WiFi/VoIP services offered.
