Supicious package at I-70 and Chambers

Police responding to a suspicious package that was delivered by an odd fed ex person that had never been seen before. Reporting Party said it had no address on it. Then opened it a little bit saw a can with wires hanging out of it. I-70 and Chambers.

They are staging by 35th and Fraser.

Arson is responding to double check. It looks like they believe it looks like a capcitor wired funny. Double checking and having the arson team look at it. Not sure if they want to evacuate the buiding. But not thinking that will be necessary. Deciding at this moment.

Bomb squad called as a precaution and will take device apart, but they do not believe this is a threat at this time. There was talk of evac but does not sound necessary.

Anyone notice the sharp increase in these calls, heard at least 3 or 4 just over the weekend. Guess that's understandable considering Aurora and Oak Creek incidents.

Yes, sort of like after 9/11. I was going to wait a bit but I waited on that one last week at Aurora Library and then it turned into a pretty big thing.

I have to admit though, I saw a box sitting outside of a store the other day and thought twice about it. So I did look at it and it was empty however my first thought was, "Is it okay?". They rarely turn out to be much.
