How do I use the updates that are listed at radio shack.com. I dnld them but can't seem to find them or install them in my scanner?

You download the update to your computer and then follow the instructions in the readme file that comes with the package. You'll need a cable that goes from a serial or USB port on your computer to your PRO-96 is you don't already have one.

I have downloaded the update but when I go to open it it syas unzip and then i can't unzip the software

may be a corrupt Download, try it again & unzip to a folder on desktop & try it
