Surprise, need help with my two day old SD 200.

Got the unit out of the box and got it up and running - sort of. I really want to use the Sentinal software. I downloaded it before the radio arrived thinking I could get a head start with programming. I got a popup saying I needed to download something else in order to set it up. I downloaded what I think it is asking for. No joy. I'm obviously doing something wrong.

When you follow the directions in post #7 and get to the "Turn Windows Features On or Off" window shown below, look at where the red arrow is pointing. Is that box checked like the one shown below when you look at it? If not, click on that box and then click "OK" at the bottom of that window.

doctordialtone beat me to it, but you should be able to do do this to get it installed. Same info from the thread linked.

I think I got the database and the firmware both updated. You need these little successes along the way to soften the 'hardship' of trying to figure out what the owner's manual says - which pretty much looks like jibberish - currently anyway.

Hey, thanks. I'll see if I can make heads or tails out of it. I refuse to give up and pay 'big bucks' if I can help it! Right now it's cocktail hour. I'm tired and that's no time to mess with this kind of stuff.
