The high-speed chase began on eastbound I-70 at the Morrison exit Wednesday when the Colorado State Patrol spotted a speeding vehicle and gave pursuit. The report came in just before 11 a.m.

The chase continued on eastbound I-70 to Denver, where the driver exited at Sheridan and then jumped out of the Volkswagen Jetta at 33rd Avenue and Tennyson Street.

The suspected driver was later found between Mead and Newton Streets, and was taken into custody by Denver police officers. He was then turned over to the state patrol.

The Jetta was reported to have been stolen. Charges are pending.

The interagency communications were not too good, Denver had the perp in custody at least 5 min before the State found out; probably would have never been caught if the State's plane wasn't up at the time.
Nobody but the State Patrol will chase anybody anywhere for anything ;)

I'll agree with that, as getting any info from CSP was a chore. I monitored airborne on my radio and kept our guys updated. The car actually went E/B Colfax from I-70 to S/B Simms down to Kentucky then E/B to Kipling and back N/B out of the city. Surprised this guy did not cause any TA's with his speeds up to 120 and blowing lights.
