Sussex Maximum Security Prison 700 Mhz. trs now testing
....a little background regarding Sussex Prison reception. The Sussex Maximum Security Prison is less than 20 miles from my location. It uses an 800 mhz. EDACS analog trs possibly at lower ERP. For reception I use the same antenna system for analog, DMR and digital signals reception. The RF sensitivity of my PSR600, 996XT and 536XT digital scanners is not even closely comparable to my DMR decode system and analog reception using an R7000. Like all digital scanners they require stronger input signals to process for desired reception. When I program the Sussex 800 mhz. EDACS trs analog voice frequencies as conventional in the R7000 and scan them the reception is noise free. My digital scanners don't detect the RF input signals as being strong enough for threshold plus desired reception processing.
Using my R7000 browsing the 770 mhz. range I received two signals which sounded like P25 control channels and matched two frequencies to the Sussex Prison's new 700 mhz. trs. Using my PSR600 in "Tune" it did not detect either frequency...no surprise there. I created a test file for the 996XT and 536 using "Motorola" system type with no recognition by either scanner. However, when I used "P25 system" the 536 indicated an occasional brief CC lock but Uniden did not incorporate the control channel output data feature in that model so no Pro96Com testing. The 996XT also inconsistently detected the weak 700 mhz. control channel frequencies which are 770.85625 and 771.95625 mhz. 770.85625 mhz. is slightly stronger than 771.95625 mhz.. 771.95625 mhz. only displayed the three voice (alternate control) frequencies
The 700 mhz. trs appears to be in the testing stage.
Attached are screen captures using DSD 1.4 and DSD PLUS for 770.85625 and 771.95625 mhz. respectively.
RR has a 5 picture upload maximum. The Pro96Coms will follow in a subsequent reply.
