On the SW7 system, I’ve been hearing two talkgroups whose users refer to them as “Interop X.” One is 22701, which they call Interop 7, and the other is 2701, which they call Interop 6. While these don’t fall within the same range as the existing interop talkgroups listed on the RRDB page, are they still part of the same sequence?
Both talkgroups seem to be “hosted,” in a sense, by specific departments. 22701/Interop 7 traffic is always initiated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, usually for search and rescue efforts, even when no other agency is involved. 2701/Interop 6 traffic is always initiated by OSU Police/Public Safety, typically during large events.
Does anyone on the forums have a clearer explanation of how these talkgroups are set up?
