Well looks like the Pike/Steelhead moa shown in the upper rh side of Michigan on this map is likely the area I would be hearing from?
I would think Forts is in a good area as well to catch the milair

omsmap44339_39.png

& this site seems to have alot 127th Michigan ANG freqs as as well MONIX Military Monitoring

Ive been trying to remind myself to check pawn shops for scanners that would be useful now that our pd have gone enc , Ive seen a few , but what im really looking for is a bc 780 or 15 I hear they are good for milair & I would assume you can change the am/fm mode in the 136 -150 bands....

A Pro 2006 will receive the military freq. and you can change any band to AM/NFM/WFM

I've got a 780 and a BCT15. The 780 is very good with MilAir, and the 15 seems good too, although I haven't really given it a good shakedown yet.

Thanks for posting that map. Handy!

If your 20 mi from CFB Trenton. That means your well with in reach of the MOAs at Ft Drum, N.Y.
Lots of Army Aviation at Drum. New York Air Guard should be with in reach of anyone near Lake O or Western Erie. Start with 261.900 AM thats the107th ARW Command Post out of Niagara Falls ARB.
I know you Selfridge Folks know this, but, don't forget to use the SUA website to see when your local MOAs and MTRs will be active. You wont hear a thing if your planes are on the ground when your listening. This site is a great tool for the MilAir monitor. Dont tell anybody it's a secret. Special Use Airspace & Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace
Click on the center map, select your ARTCC or State, check the boxes and you have it.
Good Luck

Am hearing them call in on 225.400 for approaches according to this Selfridge ANGB - The RadioReference Wiki that should be Selfridge tower , I am using my Yaesu VX-6R VX6R Amateur HT connected to the old radshack 20-176 mounted about 12 feet off the ground
Thats a pretty good distance , I love this VX6 for milair , I cant wait to see how it does with some other antennas Im working on building,...

FoeHammer,
Did I not send you the MilAir Excel file. If not here it is. The confirmed are freqs I have monitored from Windsor.

I have a couple old radio shack scanner antennas I use , some OCFD's I made & the most recent ones are a mil-air dipole & groundplane pictured here that I made , I hope to get more time to experiment with them.

That was a work in progress for a number of years, ending a few weeks ago. Much of the info was posted on this site. I just organized it into one package. All of the freqs were monitored by somebody and confirmed by somebody else. The table marked confirmed were monitored by me. I used a diamond discone antenna trimmed to the center of the UHF MilAir Band and another trimmed for the VHF MilAir Band. Both mounted on a balcony 120 Feet from the ground. RG8 Coax to a Radio Shack 10-20 db TV amp, then to an eight port multicoupler, each port connected to a BCT 15. Two of these were dedicated 24/7 searching the MilAir bands and logging hits with the bearcat software.

I'm glad someone can use the info. MilAir and Aircraft is a great hobby. And not affected by Motorola. For the most part, pilots and controllers are glad to share info, if not, flight charts and pubs are for sale at any flying school or on the net. HF Aero is also great fun in the late afternoon and evening.

Watched the F-15's land from the south side of Selfridge from the subdivision on North River Rd. The rest of this was monitored from Wally World, @ M-59, & I-94.

I don't know if the F-15's left today? Milair has been dead today (Saturday).
