• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have an 800 MHz (806-870 MHz) LPE 200 radio that displays the following when it is turned on ... "SYNTHSZR UNLOCKED". I have been unable to find anything here on RR to assist with this problem. Conventional frequencies work fine but no Edacs talkgroups will work.

I have programmed in an Edacs system with frequencies in the range of 866-869 MHz. This is where this problem happens although conventional frequencies in this range do work.

I have programmed this same personality file on other LPE 200 radios and it works fine.

The radio has the following radiocode and dsp files ... RadioCode P1R16C00.BIZ and I6R05G01.DSP

When the radio is turned on . . I get the error message and the radio continually beeps.

Anyone have any idea on how I can fix this problem ?

Thanks in advance .. any help would be appreciated.

I have gone into Radio Maint .. and have retrieved the following from the radio in question. I don't understand all of it .. but thought it may help in resolving the problem.

I have checked my service manual for the LPE and well it is just a bit over my head. So hopefully someone will come up and indicate what the problem is.

i think the problem is hardware not connected i seen a lpe-200
do this on boot i have hit the radio in my hand an rebooted
radio and radio works fine leading me to think its a hardware
unpluged a board not connected provoice board or an bad board
in the lpe-200 the lpe-200 still does this ever once in a while
and i think i need to take it apart and check the boards
also a nother lpe-200 every now and then will be monitoring
a system and the radio flashes hardware error and reboots
then works fine
