Thanks for the link appreciate it. I didn't happen to see the Syosset FD alert tones. Do most of the departments on LI use similar tones?

Use the first link on my post. Download the PDF and scroll to the page with all the 5th battalion departments on it. Syosset is on the bottom right. Listed are tones for Chiefs, Companies 1 - 5, and General Radios.

Some of the information in the document may be incorrect. The information I had I acquired myself though several channels. Some information was given to me anonymously, some I discovered on my own, some was through audio recordings, and others were given to me directly from the FD Departments.

I am in the slow process now of going through all the departments again and putting in the dispatch frequencies and the length of the tones.

To answer your second question, the only tone that most departments use are the Nassau Countywide tones for some notifications, and that is only if the department still uses 46.10. Most departments on the island have their own sets of tones. Here are some tones that I have archived: http://www.w2lie.net/download.php?list.22 And here are some tones that date back to the 1970's and early 1980's. http://www.w2lie.net/download.php?list.4
