All of which is in the RRDB on the page I linked earlier.

I really can't understand why people ask about frequencies in the forums before looking in the database, especially when they are clearly there. It truly baffles me.

What you fail to understand, is the listings for NY,Boston and Cleveland centers out and into airports.
Example,Buffalo and Rochester contact Cleveland on either 127.470 or 125.200. What I want o know
i what center frequencies are used for Syracuse.

Best way to find out is to monitor for handoffs to Center.

Syracuse is in Boston Center's airspace. In that area, they have 133.25 and 135.2. Just to the south is New York Center's airspace; they have 133.35 in that area. Just to the west is Cleveland Center's airspace; they have 127.475, 124.325 and 127.875 in that area.

KSYR departures heading to KROC are handed off directly to Rochester Approach on 119.550.

The ARTCC info in the RRDB lists the Sector Names under "Description" associated with each frequency. These names give a good approximation of the area covered by that Sector and are a good clue for which frequencies to monitor.

The FAA NFDD data at the begining of the pages is of dubious value and some info seems very out of date but the "RCAG Sites" listing by states compiled by RR is generally right on and the best source I am aware of.

For example, in the Rochester Area, 127.475 is the "Rochester" low altitude Sector which will generally be arriving and departing flights. The Geneseo High Sector 128.025 coves high altitude traffic in the area generally north of Geneseo and the Dansville High Sector 118.625 covers the area south of Geneseo down to around Wellsville. The Niagara Super High Sector 120.625 overlies Geneseo and Dansville Sectors and handles traffic way up at around FL340.

Low altitude traffic to and from Rochester on the west side, including the Buffalo area is handled by the Dunkirk Low Sector on 125.2. Another frequency in the area is Bradford Low Sector 124.325 that covers the area to the south of the Rochester Low Sector.

My post was intended for general information about how to use the info available in the RRDB and not a specific reply to your question. For the Syracuse end of Boston Center the frequencies of interest are Watertown Low 135.250, Utica High 123.875 and Rockdale Super High 124.125. New York Center (Elmira, Binghamton area) is Binghamton Low 133.35 and Elmira High 132.175.

There is a lot of good info in the RRDB if you know where to look for it. There is also some very detailed info on New York and Boston ARTCC sectors and frequencies on Wikipedia.

I find the FAA NFDD info just about useless. It shows the Holland NY RCAG frequency as 135.775 but it was changed to 118.625 over 10 years ago. Geneseo 128.025 was added at the same time (prior to 2002) but it is not listed and neither is the 119.375 in use for many years at Wayland RCAG. NFDD also does not show actual sector use, only the supposed presence of a frequency at a particular RCAG site.
