System Frequency Precision

While programming my new SDS100 I noticed that Sentinel will add MARCS-IP System Frequencies as 174.781200, 773.831200, etc.. but I see them listed in the RR database as 174.78125, 173.83125, etc.. I know it's not much difference but should I change them to what RR database shows to be more precise? Will it make any noticeable difference?

Maybe. This is the second post that I've seen, regarding not receiving and the RR download dropping the last digit. In the other post a member suggested that the OP try adding the last digit, to see if it fixed the no reception problem. And, it did.

So you might try adding in the last digit to see if it fixes your issue. Bottom line, it can't hurt.

One other note. I believe you miss typed several of the frequencies. 174.78125 is not a MARCS freq. The MARCS Freq's are all in the 700 & 800 frequency range.

Thanks for the replies. I'll update the frequencies to match the RR database. Can't hurt. And yes, that was a typo. Should have been 774.xxx.

Can't hurt and will help. When it comes to digital, nearly any amount of frequency error will affect your Bit Error Rate and thus will decrease your ability to receive digital transmissions. The more it's off frequency, the worse the Bit Error Rate, and the worse the received signal.
